The Basics!

The Ender 3 is an excellent choice for anyone getting started with 3D printing. It was the first printer I used, and it played a huge role in helping me understand the ins and outs of the process. While it doesn’t quite match the print quality of a high-end $1,000 machine right out of the box, it’s more than capable of producing impressive results with a bit of fine-tuning. Taking the time to calibrate settings, experiment with different filaments, and explore online resources will make a world of difference. With patience and a little research, you’ll soon be printing high-quality designs and unlocking the full potential of this budget-friendly yet powerful printer.

How to Get Started Using the Ender 3

Once you unbox your 3D printer, it’s essentially ready to start printing. While I’ll be writing a tutorial on how to level the bed, let’s assume you’ve already completed that step and are ready to print your first design. The next step is to visit my STL page and choose a website that offers STL files for download. After selecting a design, you’ll need to convert the STL file into G-code, which is the language your printer understands. To do this, simply download Cura, upload your STL file, select the appropriate printer type, and click the ‘Slice’ button. With that, you’ll have a ready-to-print file, and soon you’ll be bringing your creations to life!
